Kettle Pentaho data integration

Kettle is a data integration module from the Pentaho BI commercial Open Source product. It has an pretty good Eclipse-based intuitive interface. I think it's a very good choice for your ETL tasks unless you need third party system integration. Kettle has just a few plugins for this. The community version documentation is not as good as with competitors, but it's a common policy of Pentaho. The definite plus of the product is a tight integration with the other Pentaho packages.

Jitterbit

This is an excellent peace of software with plenty of useful features. Jitterbit is a relatively easy-to-start tool and has a "no-code" development intuitive interface.

Apatar

This product the most easy to start ETL Open Source product. It has a good intuitive interface. One should also mention its advanced automated business software connectors. Apatar is written in Java by a young company from Belarus. At the time of product evaluation (a year ago) I found Apatar to be really slow on relatively big data volumes (>100 000 records) when then SugarCRM connector was involved.

Talend

In my opinion, it is the best Open Source ETL package available. Based on Eclipse, it generates both Java and Perl ETL scripts, which can be used as Web services as well as run from a command line. The product has a really comprehensive set of components including popular business software connectors. Unfortunately, a community version is missing some of very attractive features like business rules components and check points, which have been newly introduced in a last version of the commercial Talend Integration Suite. But as a whole this is a very solid and useful package even in a free version. However, the Talend is not as easy to start with due to non-intuitive interface. But a lot of examples and tutorials solves this problem.
